$10,000 scholarship for graduating seniors with a record of volunteerism who plan to pursue a degree in IT or related field

Smith Scholarship Foundation

Designed for students who have succeeded despite personal and economic challenges. Awarded up to $15,000 per year for 4 years. Students must have demonstrated volunteer work or assistance to family.

Buick Achievers Scholarship Program

50 Scholarships of up to $25,000 per year for students who plan to major in a course of study focused on engineering, technology or design, with an interest in the automotive industry.

NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award

100 scholarships awarded to Young Entrepreneurs ranging from $2000 to $25,000.

Linly Heflin Scholarship Committee

Grants four-year scholarships in the amount of $4000 per year to Alabama women who have economic need and sound academic records.

Alabama School Public Relations Association Scholarship

For high school juniors or seniors at Alabama public schools who plan to pursue a public relations major, communication major or emphasis track at a university or college within the state of Alabama.

State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship

The scholarship doesn't require a high GPA, but focuses on students who are leaders and volunteers in their community and who demonstrate financial need.

  • Applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Be a graduating High School Senior
  • Have a cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Plan to enroll at an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university, or vocational-technical school and start the fall after high school graduation.
  • Be a U.S. citizen

Regions Riding Forward Scholarship Essay Contest

Jack and Rita Jones Scholarship Fund

This local scholarship is provided with funds from the Rita Jones Scholarship Trust of the Alabama-West Flordia United Methodist Foundation.The scholarship is "to assist students meeting the requirements stated in the scholarship and who would otherwise not be financially able to attend college. It is not designed for students eligible for the Pell Grant. We are seeking the student that might fall through the cracks and without our help could not attend college." UA Rural Health Scholars Program

The Rural Health Scholars Program selects 25 11th graders to participate in a 5 week summer program at the University of Alabama. Participants take 2 college courses (Chemistry & Creative Writing), live on campus, particiapate in seminars and field trips and earn college credit.


Summer Leadership Academy focused on service and social change. At Loyola University Chicago's Lake Shore Campus.

Foreign Service Language Academy

Located at the University of North Georgia, this 3-week program teaches students "a solid understanding of the fundamentals of your language of study, a grasp of general cultural norms, and a jump-start in preparing for college level foreign language or international foreign affairs education". Sophmores, juniors and rising seniors may study Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Korean, German, Japenese, Cherokee or Portuguese language.

Walsh Academy of Leadership

The Walsh Academy of Leadership is a summer camp experience sponsored by the Youth Leadership Development Program. Held June 23rd-25th at the University of Montevallo and at American Village, the Academy is a leadership experience for rising juniors and seniors.
